found objects, three plant pots
2024
They ended up in construction waste containers, under rough demolition materials, between hollow bricks and pieces of concrete, stuck and buried, damaged and injured – these useful and decorative artifacts from the homes of middle-class families and farmers: the flower pots, plates, dishes with flower patterns and vague landscape motifs, figures (of saints), and ceramic products of all kinds. It is a never ceasing fountain, a treasure trove full of wonder and ugliness. For several months, the artist sifted through containers to find these objects, sort them with his own hands, and collect them. Saved from the grinders of landfills, they have been reborn as a garden artwork. And then? Visitors suddenly encounter a flower pot bomb from the assortment of goods at the garden department of a hardware store, lying like a relic from World War II.
