With flora pondtemporary, the Kulturdrogerie launched its summer dependence in rural St. Florian, Upper Austria, in 2019. The idea for a living ‘social sculpture’ is relocated from Vienna to the countryside in St. Florian for the summer months. The extensive area of the monastery ponds enables invited artists to create new, site-specific works together and to carry out experiments and field tests for which there is a lack of space in the city. At the centre of the project is the artistic balancing of the contrasts between city and countryside, space and densification, tradition and trend.
